Father John Oetgen OSB, 85, a monk and priest of Belmont Abbey, North Carolina, died on Saturday, 10 October. He was in the 65th year of his monastic profession, and the 58th year of his priestly ministry. The monks of Belmont Abbey frequently elected Father John to the Senior Council and the General Chapter.
