An Oblate is a lay or clerical, single or married, person formally associated to a particular monastery. The Oblate seeks to live a life in harmony with the spirit of Saint Benedict as revealed in the Rule of Saint Benedict and its contemporary expression.

Benedictine Oblate Directors

The website at <www.naabod.org/>, launched May 2006, provides information about the 2007 biennial convention, July 28 to August 2. St. Martin's Abbey and St. Placid's Priory will host the biennial gathering of the North American Association of Oblate Directors on the campus of the University of St. Martin, Lacey, WA.
