RETIREMENT
OF FR. RICHARD SINNER, OBLSB
The March 18, 1998 Cass County Reporter features an extensive article
on Fr. Richard Sinner, OblSB, on the occasion of his retirement
It notes his life-long commitments to social justice and his work with
Central American refugees in the Fargo Diocese.
One quote it provides from Fr. Sinner notes his motivations: Jesus
said ‘I have come to heal the sick,’ so I studied and went into hospital
ministries… Another thing Jesus said was, ‘I have come to ramsom the captive.’
So I got involved with helping refugees fleeing for their lives. Jesus
also said, ‘I have come to proclaim good news to the poor.’ So I am helping
to run a homeless shelter and trying to fulfill the ministry that Jesus
had.
