Abbreviations and Symbols

* - after name of saint, bow in Eucharistic Prayer I
* - after color of day, funeral mass is prohibited
¶ - after date of month, Sunday or holy day; Mass to be offered for the people
+ - a mass for the dead may be said: on receipt of the news of death, or at the final burial, or on the first anniversary of death.
Ø - Votive Mass or a Mass "for various occasions" or "daily" Mass for the dead may be said.
ø - Votive Mass or a Mass "for various occasions" may be said in a Mass with the people and a genuine necessity exists; a Mass for the dead may be said: on news of death, final burial, first anniversay of death.
