
Partners Across Borders has organized the Saint Cloud Area’s
Sister-City relationship with Tenancingo, El Salvador, since 1992.
Delegation open to youth at least 16 years old.
Trip will include:
Visits to historical sites, including the chapel where Archbishop Oscar Romero was assassinated.
Visits to communities pursuing local development projects through community organizing. We will stay several days in Tenancingo and meet and interact with the people directly, including youth.
Focused activities with Tenancingo Youth Leadership Development Project.
Eat fried bananas with refried beans & scrambled eggs for breakfast!
Learn about current events and issues important to the people of El Salvador.
Spanish ability is helpful, but all major activities will be translated.
Limited space available. We hope to have representation from various area high schools. See information below for obtaining an application.
15-20 hours of orientation for preparation and travel safety required.
Experienced adult leaders: 20+ trips to El Salvador and/or Central America.
Approximate cost: $750, plus airfare (~$550.00). Group fund-raising possible. Cost does not include passport fees.
