[Corpus Christi Abbey (1927-2002) - 2 monks]

On December 11, 1927, monks from New Subiaco arrived in Corpus Christi Diocese to open a high school. The foundation was made a dependent priory in 1949, a independent priory in 1959, and raised to an abbey on July 22, 1961. The school was closed in 1972 and the monastery was moved to Sandia, Texas, in 1975. In August 2002 the monastery was closed and the chapter rights were invested in the President and his council until all members receive new canonical status and the religious community is dissolved. The property was sold in 2005.
