Dom Guy Frénod OSB, of the Abbaye de Saint-Pierre de Solesmes, France, has passed away at the age of 76 years old, living 54 years of monastic profession and 47 years of priesthood. For 30 years, Dom Guy left an indelible mark on the hearts of those associated with the monastery of Keur Moussa, where he was beloved especially by the oblates as their Master of Oblates. His sudden departure from this life, after having fallen ill while celebrating the Mass, has been particularly difficult for the Solesmes community.
