Dom Christopher Jamison OSB is a Benedictine monk and former Abbot of Worth Abbey in West Sussex, England. He became well-known through the BBC TV series The Monastery. In the summer of 2017, Jamison was appointed Abbot President of the English Benedictine Congregation. Lately, Abbot Christopher has partnered with a few of his friends to offer an online resource for people living through the Covid-19 crisis.

Abbot Christopher writes:

Alone [Together] is a web site where people in lockdown can access support from people who have lived experience of social distancing and isolation, beginning with insights from monastics. The project is a partnership between me, the media production house CTVC and the youth charity Million Minutes. The three of us have worked together on other projects and saw a need to offer something from living faith traditions to the wider public during the pandemic. Ten thousand unique visitors came to the site in its first week, the overwhelming majority aged under 35. New material is added in response to the changing needs of people during the pandemic: Several videos on shaping the day at home, a Psalm for Lockdown by Abbot Xavier Perrin and a video on grief when there’s no funeral service by Sr Gemma Simmonds CJ.
